This 7-day/ 6-night trip features four nights at remote Favorite Bay Lodge on Admiralty Island—where humpback whales, bald eagles and brown bear are the rulers of the land. It’s a truly special experience, giving you the chance to experience the Inside Passage in very memorable ways; trophy fish offshore or on seasonal runs teeming with salmon; commune with whales and other wildlife; sea kayak, hike, and explore pristine landscapes. To round out your Alaskan experience, you’ll spend two nights in Juneau, where a helicopter excursion sees you soaring over the backcountry before touching down on a glacier for a once-in-a-lifetime dog sledding experience.

Alaska Luxury Wilderness Vacation

Day 1
After picking you up at Juneau Airport, your driver will transport you to your centrally located hotel. Start exploring the state’s capital and enjoy dinner on your own, at one of many great restaurants (we’ve got plenty of suggestions). Accommodations are at the Westmark Baranof Hotel, King Suite

Day 2
Two very special Alaskan experiences await you today. First, explore Juneau and the surrounding area on a jeep adventure, taking in the city’s must-see sites before settling into lunch at a beachfront cabin with views across the Inside Passage. Next, you’ll be up in a helicopter bound for the extraordinary world of ice fields and glaciers—and your own dog sledding adventure. Imagine you and 80 huskies on the vast Juneau Icefield. Accommodations are at the Westmark Baranof Hotel, King Suite

Day 3
After transferring to the Juneau Airport, you’ll board a seaplane bound for Admiralty Island. Settle into your remote wilderness accommodations, then sit back to enjoy views over the bay. Accommodations are at Favorite Bay Lodge, Deluxe Room

Day 4
Over the next three days, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a number of memorable activities available at the Lodge, including kayaking, whale watching and other wildlife viewing. Fantastic saltwater sport fishing just minutes from the Lodge offers up all five species of wild Pacific salmon, cutthroat and steelhead trout, monster Alaskan halibut, and trophy-sized Dolly Varden. Accommodations are at Favorite Bay Lodge, Deluxe room

Day 5
Try your hand at more saltwater fishing (the Lodge is happy to process your catch for the trip home), or head to secluded waterways nearby for some freshwater fly-fishing or spin casting. Other options include kayaking into beautiful Mitchell Bay, watching whales feed in the Chatham Straits, and hiking in the Tongass National Rainforest—home to one of the highest populations of brown bear and bald eagles on the planet. Accommodations are at Favorite Bay Lodge, Deluxe Room

Day 6
For your last day at the Lodge consider joining in on a trip out to the inlets of Admiralty, Baranof, and Chichagof Islands to harvest Alaskan Dungeness crabs and Alaskan spot prawns. Set and retrieve traps, watch for whales, and possibly even spot bear feeding. At the end of the day, Chef Pierre will prepare a sampling of your catch. Accommodations are at Favorite Bay Lodge, Deluxe Room

Day 7
After breakfast, a floatplane will return you to the Juneau Airport in time for your outbound flight. Safe travels!
