Named one of America’s best lodges by Travel + Leisure magazine, Winterlake Lodge is an oasis of stunning scenery, sophisticated comforts, and wilderness adventures. Located nearly 200 miles northwest of Anchorage, on the route of the world famous Iditarod dog sled race, Carl and Kirsten Dixon’s remote log lodge sits on 15 acres overlooking Finger Lake and the Tordrillo Mountains. The main building includes a comfortable room for relaxing by the fire and viewing the lake from large picture windows, along with a dining area and large kitchen (Kirsten has published two cookbooks—so you can expect excellent cuisine).
