Alaska Pre/Post Cruise Trip to Hotel Alyeska
Day 1
After disembarking from your cruise ship, you will be driven by private transfer to Anchorage along the spectacular Seward Highway. Stop along the way to visit the Alaska SeaLife Center, where you’ll see endangered stellar sea lions, harbor seals, and sea birds. A second stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center allows you to view bears, bison, moose and other Alaska wildlife up close. A must-do for the evening is to take a ride up the aerial tram to the summit of Mt. Alyeska—the views of the Chugach Mountains and Glacier Valley are unrivalled. Accommodations are at the Hotel Alyeska.
Day 2
After a short and scenic helicopter flight to a nearby ice field, you’ll receive a personal introduction to the sport of dogsledding. Your guide will explain the origins of this special breed of dogs, mushing history, and the Iditarod, known as “The Last Great Race on Earth”—then show you how to harness the dogs and take you onto the trail. You will have a chance to drive the sled yourself or sit in a comfortable seat and enjoy the ride. Accommodations are at the Hotel Alyeska.
Day 3
Your driver will transport you from the hotel to Anchorage International Airport in time for your departing flight. Safe travels!
