Luxury Family Vacations in Canada
What’s the perfect family holiday? The answer is of course a matter of taste, but in our opinion, it’s anything that sees parents and kids bonding through adventure; one that piques kids’ curiosity, rewards their sense of adventure, and encourages their appreciation of the world around them. Finally, it’s one in which every member of the family is wowed, inspired, or entertained—or all three. Kind of like what happens when you find yourself eyeballing humpback whales from an open-air Zodiac, or watching a mother black bear and her cubs at play in the wild. It’s pretty easy to appreciate nature when you’re heli-hiking amid the massive glaciers, turquoise lakes, and airy mountain ridges of Rocky Mountains—or ziplining high above a lush valley floor.
Active Family Travel
All of our family itineraries include as much outdoor activity as you desire. Of course, some packages—like Rockies Family Adventure—simply lend themselves to it. From white-water rafting down the historic Athabasca River to hiking around Lake Louise in the world-famous Rocky Mountain World Heritage Site, the “Hiking Capital of Canada” (not to mention three days of heli-hiking in Banff and Yoho National Parks), this is arguably our most “active” family adventure. But as always, we can build in as much or as little activity as you desire. On Whistler Summer Fun, highlights include ziplining above Fitzsimmons Creek and river rafting among vertical canyon walls, cascading waterfalls and glacier-studded peaks. On Yachts, Lodges & Resorts, the whole family can swim, hike, fish, or kayak among the sheltered waters, islands and bays of Desolation Sound. West Coast Experience features a variety of outdoor adventures—including two days at the Wilderness Outpost, where days are given over to horseback riding and hiking in Old Growth Forests.
Wildlife Viewing Family Holiday
With so much pristine wilderness, it’s not surprising that Canada boasts incredible wildlife habitat, and all of our Family Adventures incorporate some wildlife viewing—whether it’s a simple ecotour safari in the Rockies or a full-on black bear expedition accompanied by a researcher in search of active dens, daybeds and feeding sites near Whistler. If marine wildlife is your focus, we’ll introduce you to seals, sea lions, sea birds and porpoises, plus orcas, minke and humpback whales. Just tell us what fascinates you (or the kids!), and we’ll make sure you see it.
First-rate Accommodations
We partner with local operators and top resorts to ensure your family is comfortable and enjoys the best accommodations each destination has to offer. That might mean the Four Seasons Resort Whistler, or the 21st-century safari-style enclave of luxurious sleeping tents that comprises the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort. If you prefer to stay on water, we recommend the M.V. Pacific Yellowfin, a 114-foot luxury charter yacht perfect for family floats. Other accommodation highlights include the Rockies’ iconic Fairmont Château Lake Louise and beautiful Rimrock Resort, nestled high above the town of Banff. |

West Coast Experience
This 7-day/ 6-night trip is perfect for future marine biologists and wildlife lovers! It combines two of the best city attractions in Vancouver and Victoria (an adrenaline-rushing zipline adventure and the Vancouver Aquarium or Science World) with a “walk on the wild side” on Vancouver Island’s rugged west coast. In Vancouver, a two-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel puts you in the heart of downtown, close to Robson Street and Stanley Park, while the Wilderness Outpost is a perfectly rustic, 21st-century safari-style enclave. Everywhere, you’ll enjoy fine Pacific Northwest cuisine featuring locally caught seafood. Other trip highlights include the seaplane “transfers” themselves—with exquisite views of the Gulf Islands, Strait of Georgia, and Vancouver Island mountains.
