Rocky Mountain Train Tours

Day 1
Upon your arrival at Calgary International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Banff. The scenic drive will take approximately 1.5 hours. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Banff Springs in a Junior Suite.

Day 2
Enjoy a private full-day sightseeing tour in and around the Banff, Yoho National Park and Lake Louise area. Stops can include stunning Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain, the Hoodoos, massive Minnewanka Lake, Takakkaw Falls, Emerald Lake, and Lake Louise—the “Jewel of the Canadian Rockies”. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Banff Springs in a Junior Suite.

Day 3
On your day at leisure in Banff, explore such sights as Surprise Corner and Johnston Canyon on your own, or simply wander around town, relax at the hotel, or take a soak in the nearby Banff Hot Springs. Other options include river rafting, golf, horseback riding, and a day tour to Athabasca Glacier. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Banff Springs in a Junior Suite.

Day 4
A private SUV transfer will deliver you from Banff to Jasper. The 4.5-hour drive along the scenic Columbia Icefields Parkway is one of the most spectacular in the world. You’ll stop en route for a heli-sightseeing tour and gourmet picnic lunch amid the magnificent peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Accommodations are at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 5
Enjoy a private half-day Eco Tour through Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Get your camera ready as you take a guided walk (or use a custom photo vehicle) to explore. Keep watch for bighorn sheep, black bears, bald eagles and osprey. Afternoon options include guided fishing, river rafting, and golf. Accommodations are at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 6
Board the Rocky Mountaineer for the most spectacular train trip in the world. Departing from Jasper, you’ll travel to Kamloops through the Rockies, enjoying dramatic views from the Gold Leaf dome car of the Continental Divide, the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, and Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies. Accommodations are in Kamloops in a moderate hotel.

Day 7
On your luxury train, continue west past the desert-like interior, winding river canyons and forests surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains to the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Arrive in Vancouver in time for dinner. Accommodations are at the Shangri-La Hotel in an Executive King with Balcony Room.

Day 8
Enjoy a private tour of Vancouver, famous for its cultural diversity and spectacular parks, with a knowledgeable guide. Explore downtown Vancouver, Chinatown, 1000-acre Stanley Park, the North Shore and more, including a gourmet picnic lunch en route. Accommodations are at the Shangri-La Hotel in an Executive King with Balcony Room.

Day 9
You will be picked up from you hotel and delivered to the Vancouver Airport in time for your outgoing flight. Safe travels!
