This 8-day/ 7-night leisurely driving tour explores the world-famous Canadian Rockies, taking a circular route with stays in the popular destinations of Lake Louise, Jasper and Banff. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the many outdoor activities in the region or relax in the majestic splendour of the mountains. Private sightseeing inclusions feature hiking in Lake Louise and a Mount Edith Cavell Ecotour in Jasper.

Road Trip Through the Heart of the Rocky Mountains

Day 1
Upon your arrival at Calgary International Airport, you’ll pick up your rental car and enjoy a scenic two-hour drive west along the Trans-Canada Highway towards the Canadian Rockies. Your day will end in beautiful Lake Louise, Canada’s “Diamond in the Wilderness”. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise in a Deluxe Lakeview Room.

Day 2
Nature and history will come alive as you enjoy a half-day guided interpretive hike around the Lake Louise area. Later, use your rental car to explore nearby Emerald Lake and Yoho National Park, with the spectacular Takakkaw Falls, on your own. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise in a Deluxe Lakeview Room.

Day 3
Drive north along the spectacular Columbia Icefields Parkway, through the heart of the Rockies, into Jasper National Park. Stop along the way to take an optional “Snocoach” tour onto the Athabasca Glacier. Accommodations are at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 4
Explore a spectacular snow- and ice-covered alpine destination, Mount Edith Cavell, in Jasper National Park, during your private 3-hour tour in a custom photo vehicle. Spot alpine flowers and see icebergs floating in the emerald green Cavell Lake. Accommodations are at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 5
Enjoy a day at leisure in Jasper: wander through the town site or engage in a number of optional activities such as golf, heli-hiking, guided fishing, and river rafting. A boat cruise on Maligne Lake is always a favourite. Accommodations are at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 6
Take in more breathtaking scenery as you retrace your steps on the Icefields Parkway, travelling south to Banff and your hotel. Highlights of the drive include Peyto Lake and the Bow Glacier. Accommodations are at Fairmont Banff Springs in a Deluxe View Room.

Day 7
Explore the sights in and around the Banff area. Highlights include Bow Falls, Surprise Corner, and Johnston Canyon, and walks to the famous Hoodoo sandstone formations or around massive Minnewanka Lake. Accommodations are at Fairmont Banff Springs in a Deluxe View Room.

Day 8
Relax at the hotel or head out to explore Calgary in advance of your return flight from Calgary International Airport. Safe travels!
