At your luxury tented camp within the Clayoquot Sound World Biosphere, you’ll experience the sort of remote beauty and wildlife most people associate with the Canadian wilderness. Clayoquot Wilderness Resort
Day 1
Upon your arrival at the Vancouver Airport, your driver will meet you for the two-hour journey to Whistler along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Whistler in a Fairmont Gold Room.
Day 2
Explore the hidden beauty of Fitzsimmons Creek and the picturesque forest valley between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains on a thrilling ziplining adventure. In the afternoon, consider golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, wandering around the pedestrian village, or sightseeing from a floatplane or helicopter. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Whistler in a Fairmont Gold Room.
Day 3
Choose among a number of activities: ride the gondola to the top of Whistler for exceptional views; take an exhilarating rafting trip that combines big water and spectacular West Coast scenery; explore some of the most pristine black bear habitat in North America on a guided 4×4 tour; or take an ATV through Whistler’s backcountry. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Whistler in a Fairmont Gold Room.
Day 4
A private transfer will deliver you the short distance to Green Lake this morning, from where you will board a charter flight for Bedwell River and your luxury wilderness camp. Accommodations are at the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in a Deluxe Tent.
Days 5 & 6
From your base on Vancouver Island’s magnificently rugged west coast, you’ll explore pristine wilderness like pioneers. Travel miles of First Nations paths on foot or on horseback, follow waterways deep into the old-growth forests in canoes or kayaks, or discover abundant wildlife, including bears and whales, on guided zodiac tours. Other options include fresh water and ocean fishing. At night, luxuriate in the wood-fueled outdoor cedar hot tub and sauna. Accommodations are at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in a Deluxe Tent.
Day 7
Savour your final day at Clayoquot with another horseback riding trek, hike, or paddle. Early evening, you will take a scheduled seaplane flight to Richmond, from where you will be transported to your hotel in downtown Vancouver. Accommodations are at the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver in an Executive King Balcony Room.
Day 8
Enjoy a private guided tour of Vancouver. Visit 1000-acre Stanley Park, Chinatown, and the North Shore. Stop for a gourmet picnic lunch after working up an appetite on a coastal virgin rainforest walk. Accommodations are at the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver in an Executive King Balcony Room.
Day 9
Your driver will transport you from your hotel to the Vancouver airport in time for your return flight. Safe travels!
