This 6-day/ 5-night trip includes two nights in Vancouver followed by three nights at Tweedsmuir Park Lodge. Some 40 miles east of Bella Coola, the lodge and surrounding park offer an untouched setting characterized by old growth forests, pristine rivers, stunning peaks, soaring eagles, and vast glaciers. In autumn, when the salmon arrive to spawn, it is host to one of the highest concentrations of grizzly bears anywhere. After urban explorations in multi-faceted Vancouver, wind down to wilderness calm and grizzly bear watching that will leave you breathless.

Grizzly Watching Holiday in Canada

Day 1
Upon your arrival at the Vancouver Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Vancouver. Accommodations are at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.

Day 2
Enjoy a day of leisure in Vancouver—explore historic Chinatown and Yaletown, wander through vast Stanley Park, or hit the chic boutiques of Robson Street. Accommodations are at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.

Day 3
You will be transferred back to Vancouver Airport in time for your late morning, 75-minute commercial flight over the Coastal Mountains to Bella Coola. From the lodge, begin your safari with an evening drift on the Atnarko River to look for bald eagles, river otters, black bears and of course grizzlies. Accommodations are at Tweedsmuir Park Lodge.

Day 4
Enjoy a daytime drift on the Atnarko River for yet more photo opportunities and take a guided valley tour with short hikes to look for bear signs. In the evening, enjoy mountain views from the deck, soak in the outdoor hot tub, or relax in your private chalet before a gourmet dinner in the main lodge. Day 5
Choose between more grizzly watching or cruise the interlinking fjords of the stunning Bella Coola Valley. Alternatively, stroll the Petroglyph Gardens, fish for halibut, trap crabs and prawn, or treat yourself to a massage back at the lodge spa. Accommodations are at Tweedsmuir Park Lodge.

Day 6
After a leisurely morning around the lodge, fly from Bella Coola back to Vancouver International Airport. From there, you’ll be able to catch your return flight home. Safe travels!
