Take Photos of Wild Polar Bears

Day 1
Arrive in Winnipeg and enjoy a relaxing night—you’ll need your rest for your early morning departure to Churchill. Over an arranged dinner at the hotel, meet your group and your adventure specialist. Accommodations are at the Four Points Sheraton in a Standard Room.

Day 2
A commercial flight will transport you to Churchill, from where you will be flown by helicopter or fixed wing aircraft to the lodge. This exciting flight takes you out over the Churchill River, and then northwest up the rugged Hudson Bay coastline. Keep a sharp eye out for caribou, moose, seals, wolves, and of course polar bears. Accommodations are at Seal River Heritage Lodge.

Days 3, 4 & 5
Each day at the lodge is dedicated to photographing polar bears and other Arctic wildlife. All meals are provided, but may be interrupted by wildlife sightings, or their times adjusted so as to take advantage of optimum lighting conditions for shooting.

The lodge is in a wildly rugged and remote location, and days are designed for the dedicated wildlife photographer willing to spend long hours in the field getting up close and personal with the Arctic wildlife. Your photos will have stunning backdrops, with the sea and/or landscapes surrounding the lodge—whose shoreline location is ideal for photographing bears on snow and ice. There are also an exceptional number of clear nights for Northern Lights photography. Each evening, enjoy informative lectures, beautiful slide presentations, and conversation around the fire as you download the day’s images. Accommodations are at Seal River Heritage Lodge.

Day 6
Travel by charter flight back to Churchill—another opportunity for great aerial shots. From there, you will have the opportunity to check out the town of Churchill, in the heart of Polar Bear Country. You will have time to visit this unique frontier community on your own. Stops include the Port, the Eskimo Museum and the Polar Bear Holding Compound. You might also consider a dogsledding experience. Dinner will be provided in a local restaurant before your brief transfer to the airport.

From there a commercial flight will deliver you back to Winnipeg for your final night. Accommodations are at the Four Points Sheraton in a Standard Room.

Day 7
After breakfast in the hotel you will walk across the road to the Winnipeg Airport to board your flight on your scheduled departure. Safe travels!
