Polar Bear Viewing at Dymond Lake Lodge

Day 1
Arrive in Winnipeg and enjoy a relaxing night—you’ll need your rest for your early morning departure to Churchill. Over an arranged dinner at the hotel, meet your group and your adventure specialist. Accommodations are at the Four Points Sheraton in a Standard Room.

Day 2
A commercial flight will transport you to Churchill, from where you will be flown by helicopter or fixed wing aircraft to the lodge. This exciting flight takes you out over the Churchill River, and then northwest up the rugged Hudson Bay coastline. Keep a sharp eye out for caribou, moose, seals, wolves and of course the great Ice Bears. Upon arrival, a guided hike will introduce you to the starkly beautiful coastline. Accommodations are at Dymond Lake Lodge in a Lodge Room.

Days 3 & 4
Each morning after breakfast, you’ll head out with an expert guide to safely view the bears. The walks are comfortably paced, as they are geared towards plenty of viewing and photo opportunities. Polar bears are also known to saunter by the lodge on a regular basis, so you can often view them from the warmth and comfort of the lounge through the massive picture windows. In the evenings, enjoy informative lectures, beautiful slide presentations, and conversation around the fire. Accommodations are at Dymond Lake Lodge in a Lodge Room.

Day 5
Travel by charter flight from the lodge to Churchill, where you’ll have the day to explore the town (highlights include the Eskimo Museum and the Polar Bear Holding Compound!), or arrange a dogsledding tour or helicopter charter. Accommodations are at a moderate hotel in Churchill.

Day 6
For your last day in polar bear country, you’ll travel by “Tundra Buggie” across the tundra for more bear viewing on a full-day organized adventure. In the evening, a commercial flight will deliver you back to Winnipeg. Accommodations are at the Four Points Sheraton in a Standard Room.

Day 7
Head to the Winnipeg Airport in time for your scheduled departure. Safe travels!
