  • Fairmont Château Lake Louise

This 8-day/ 7-night trip is a leisurely driving tour that explores the world-famous Canadian Rockies, taking a circular route with stays in the popular destinations of Lake Louise, Jasper and Banff. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the many outdoor activities in the region or relax in the majestic splendour of the mountains. Private sightseeing inclusions feature dogsledding in Lake Louise, a Maligne Canyon Ice Walk in Jasper, and a heli-sightseeing experience in Banff.

Canadian Rocky Mountain Winter Holidays

Day 1
Upon arrival at Calgary International Airport, you’ll pick up your rental car and enjoy a scenic two-hour drive west along the Trans-Canada Highway towards the Canadian Rockies. Your day will end in beautiful Lake Louise, Canada’s “Diamond in the Wilderness”. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise in a Fairmont Deluxe Lakeview Room.

Day 2
Enjoy a true dogsledding adventure! Get to know the dogs and their guides, and learn the basics of mushing—then drive the team home. You’ll cover over 16 km (9 mi.), travelling along and across the Continental Divide in Banff and Yoho National Parks. The afternoon is at your leisure; consider exploring nearby Emerald Lake and Yoho National Park, with the spectacular Takakkaw Falls. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise in a Fairmont Deluxe Lakeview Room.

Day 3
Drive north to Jasper along the Columbia Icefields Parkway—one of the most spectacular drives in the world. Plan to make plenty of stops along the way, including taking a “Snocoach” tour onto the Athabasca Glacier. Other highlights along the route include Peyto Lake and Sunwapta Falls. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 4
Travel by luxury SUV to Maligne Canyon for a private Ice Walk Tour. Your interpretive guide will safely take you down beneath the frozen surface of the Maligne River. Water levels drop with the freeze, leaving a magical world of ice formations and shelves. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 5
Enjoy a day at leisure in Jasper: wander through the town site—just 15 minutes away—or engage of a number of optional activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sleigh rides and ice fishing. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in a Lakefront Suite.

Day 6
Take in more breathtaking scenery as you retrace your steps on the Icefields Parkway, travelling south to Banff via the Bow Glacier. Accommodations are at Fairmont Banff Springs in a Deluxe View Room.

Day 7
From nearby Canmore, embark on a flightseeing tour over the magnificent peaks of the Kananaskis Region. Follow Lake Minnewanka for views of the Three Sisters. Find the perfect landing locale for your champagne picnic. In the afternoon, explore such Banff highlights as the Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, and Bow Falls. Accommodations are at Fairmont Banff Springs in a Deluxe View Room.

Day 8
Relax at the hotel or head out to explore Calgary in advance of your return flight from Calgary International Airport. Safe travels!
