Boasting jaw-dropping views, diverse gourmet fare and adventures ranging from mild to wild, Canada is synonymous with romance.  Whether you’re a honeymooner with stars in your eyes or a seasoned couple craving connection, Canada offers some of the best (and most romantic!) corners to kiss.

1) Vancouver, BC

We may be somewhat biased, but we believe Vancouver has some of the most stunning sights and romantic places to kiss. Stroll 1,000 acre Stanley Park hand-in-hand and spot swans on Lost Lagoon.  Eat your way through the city with a stop at Granville Island Public Market, and sample some locally made chocolate (a known aphrodisiac!) or Oyama Sausage.

Pucker up: On the seawall at sunset.

2) Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON

A quaint and well-preserved 19th Century village, Niagara-on-the-lake is minutes from Niagara Falls and in the heart of Ontario’s wine region. Visit the historic sites of Fort George and Historical Society Museum, or take in a show at the Shaw Festival Theater. Don’t miss exploring the Old Town, where Victorian homes with Gingerbread trim line the streets.

Pucker Up: Hop in a helicopter and smooch high above the falls.

3) Fogo Island, NL

One of the four corners of the earth (as stated by the Flat Earth Society) it’s impossible to come away from Fogo Island untouched by its rugged beauty and dramatic coastlines. The highlight of Fogo Island is the Inn itself, which sits on stilts overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean. Explore Fogo Island and its people as you venture offshore to spot icebergs, hike the varied landscape, and mingle with locals.

Pucker Up: At Brimstone Head, a rocky outcrop overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and one of the four corners of the earth.

4) Montreal, QC

With its cobbled streets, endless back alleys and candle-lit cafes, Montreal exudes European charm while maintaining a sophisticated night-life. Admire the neo-Gothic Basilique Notre-Dame, or curl up in The Grande Bibliotheque where you have your pick between over a million books.  Montreal is said to have more restaurants per capita than any other city in North America, so be sure to get your fill of Bagels, smoked meat sandwiches, and most importantly – poutine. If you’re not in love yet, this cheesy, gravy-laden delicacy will most definitely send you head over heels.

Pucker Up: At the summit of Mont Royal, overlooking the sparkling city below.

5) Lake Louise, AB

No matter the season, Lake Louise provides picture-perfect backdrops to conjure romance. Paddle across still turquoise waters in the summer, hike amidst wildflowers in the spring, saddle up a horse for an autumn trail ride for two, or strap on snowshoes and immerse yourself in a winter wonderland.

Pucker Up: Atop turquoise waters in a canoe overlooking the Victoria Glacier.

6) St. John’s, NL

Maybe it’s the salty ocean air, the lighthouses dotting the craggy landscape, or the cheerful Jellybean Row Houses in the downtown core. Whatever it is, the historic fishing village of St. John’s offers a rich history and unique culture. Enjoy a sunset picnic at the base of a lighthouse at Signal Hill, tuck into some fish and chips inside an age-old pub, or chat with the locals and pick up some local “Newfoundlander” slang. “Oh me nerves, ye got me drove!”

Pucker Up: At the picturesque Cape Spear Lighthouse, the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland & Labrador.

7) Tofino, BC

Think endless stretches of sandy beach, brilliant sunsets dipping into the Pacific Ocean, and gourmet west coast fare to satiate your appetite. Tofino and its surrounding beaches (namely Long Beach and Chesterman Beach) set the scene for romance in a big way, whether you’re combing the beaches for sparkling sand dollars or hiking the Pacific Rim National Park’s winding rainforest trails.

Pucker Up: Under the canopy of 1,000 year-old spruce and hemlock trees, deep in Pacific Rim National Park.

8) Victoria, BC

This charming capital city oozes old-world British charm, and offers no shortage of places to pucker up. Stop to smell the roses (literally!) at Butchart Gardens, indulge in traditional afternoon tea, or hold on tight to your other half as you whiz through the Juan de Fuca Strait in search of orca whales on a zodiac.

Pucker Up: While crossing the medieval stone bridge in Beacon Hill Park, a 200 acre refuge filled with landscaped gardens, lakes and trails.

9) Quebec City, QC

The birthplace of French Canada, Quebec City is one of the oldest European settlements in North America and boasts a rich history complete with an intact fortress. There are many romantic ways to explore the city, but we think one of the best is by horse and carriage, rolling through the cobbled streets snuggled under the stars.

Pucker Up: From your private hot air balloon as it floats over Chateau Frontenac and the St Lawrence River.

10) Whitehorse, YT

While the Yukon may not be the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to romance, the Aurora Borealis is a jaw-dropping once-in-a-lifetime experience for individuals and couples alike. Explore the snowy tundra by day, and then bundle up at night for Mother Nature’s most impressive light display.

Pucker Up: In a hot tub under the night sky, as the aurora dances above.
