Skagway

Another spot ideal for its easy access to pristine wilderness, there’s a myriad of options to choose from on your Skagway shore excursion.  However, with a population of under a thousand souls and just one main street, it can get very crowded when more than 10,000 people come pouring off the cruise ships on a busy summer day! Our collection of private tour options are designed to allow you to take in all that Skagway has to offer without getting lost in the crowds!

Glacier Bay Flightseeing (1.5-hours)

This exclusive private tour provides you with an opportunity to explore Glacier Bay National Park by Alaskan bush plane.   Your local guide will greet you dockside and transfer you to the Skagway airport. There, you’ll meet your pilot—an experienced flyer who has been exploring the mountain passes around Glacier Bay since 1992. Your classic De Havilland Beaver features oversized windows for taking in the big scenery. Take to the skies and experience the dynamic beauty, power, and vast ice expanses of Alaska’s renowned Glacier Bay National Park. View ice spirals, deep blue crevasses, the valley floor, hanging glaciers, craggy peaks, and more! Keep an eye out for mountain goats, moose, and brown and black bear. Marvel at the dozens of waterfalls that pour out of the steep mountainsides. Your pilot will explain the geologic forces at work as you cross the rugged Chilkat Mountains and soar over massive glaciers, cobalt blue lakes, and iceberg-filled bays.
Return to Skagway and reboard your ship filled with memories and photographs from an unforgettable adventure.
