The Itinerary
1 | SHELDON NUNATAK, DENALI NATIONAL PARK, AK
Upon your arrival in Anchorage, you’ll be transferred to Merrill Field where a helicopter will be waiting. A scenic one-hour ride will deliver you to Ruth Glacier, deep in the heart of Denali National Park. Sheldon Chalet offers guests the rare opportunity to overnight on Denali, without the need for a tent or the challenge of battling the elements.
2 - 3 | SHELDON NUNATAK, DENALI NATIONAL PARK, AK
Days at Sheldon Chalet are active, exciting and entirely customizable – and Ruth Glacier is yours to explore. You may choose to enjoy a picnic on the Glacier itself, a guided expedition of snow cavern spelunking, sledding, rappelling or crevasse exploration. The nights at Sheldon Chalet are magical and other-worldly. Witness the Aurora Borealis dance across the vast night sky from the comfort of the observation deck or while soaking in the sauna. Pick out constellations and watch as meteors dart by. Accommodations are at the Sheldon Chalet.
4 | TALKEETNA, AK
After a final morning of activities on Ruth Glacier you’ll board a helicopter bound for Talkeetna. The scenic one-hour flight showcases Denali in all its glory, and provides a unique vantage point to admire Alaska’s mountain range. Upon your arrival in Talkeetna you’ll have some time to explore. Take in the sights of this unique hamlet with its clapboard buildings lining Main Street. Visit Red John’s historic cabin, an often photographed Landmark complete with a set of antlers adorning the doorframe. Accommodations are at Belle’s Cabin.
5 | TALKEETNA, AK
Situated at the base of Denali, Talkeetna is perfectly positioned for a number of quintessential Alaskan activities. The day is yours, and activities will be selected based on your interests and abilities. You may wish to meet some friendly pups for a day of dog-sledding as you learn about the famed Iditarod Race, a cornerstone of Alaskan history. Active explorers may traverse the backcountry by cross-country skis or snowmobile, and those seeking to imbibe could enjoy a Denali Brewing tour with its subsequent tasting room. 6 | ANCHORAGE, AK
This morning a private transfer will deliver you from Talkeetna to Anchorage and the Anchorage International Airport. Safe travels!
