The Broughton Archipelago:
Whether you’re a fishing novice or an angling-extraordinaire, the untouched waterways around the Broughton Archipelago in the southern Great Bear Rainforest have something for everyone. Wild Pacific Salmon is the prized fish in these waters, but you may also reel in Coho, Chinook, Pinks and Steelhead, as well as Dolly Varden Char, and Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout. Your access to the Broughton Archipelago area covers a surreal 50,000 square miles of terrain with over 50 isolated rivers and streams to choose from. Your experienced pilot and guide will take you to the best spots where your only competition will be the local wildlife.
Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort is a family-owned assortment of cozy cabins, and a stay here guarantees the most spectacular home away from home. You can even request an intertidal cabin where you can feel the rise and fall of the tide beneath your feet! This natural refuge also has a catalog of Carbon Responsible programs — it’s a very eco-friendly resort! If you’re inexperienced, we recommend taking a personal fly-fishing lesson right off Nimmo Bay’s dock so that you can hit the ground running on your first foray into the wilderness.

Vancouver Island:
This area is perfect for those who want to skip the hassle and get to the tackle in terrain full of exceptional fishing locations. Just a short flight from internationally accessible Vancouver is Vancouver Island. The gentle currents, protected landscape, and rich biodiversity make Vancouver Island a haven for salt and freshwater fishers alike. Here you’ll find premium fishing year-round, and you can expect trophy-sized salmon and halibut, along with snapper, cod, crabs, clams, oysters, prawns, and more. Other activities in the area include whale watching, bear viewing and learning of the area’s rich cultural history through native art and more.
An Entrée Destinations fishing favorite on Vancouver Island is The Lodge at Gold River. The Lodge claims their location is “where angling dreams come true”, and you won’t hear us disagreeing. They have unparalleled access to all waterways in the region through a combination of boats, helicopters, floatplanes, and air-accessible watersheds, meaning even a short stay here has uncapped angling potential. You may also indulge in comforts such as a roaring fire, mountain views, an exercise room, and a tack room.

Alaska’s Inside Passage and Admiralty Island:
Alaska’s Inside Passage is home to some of the world’s most magnificent sea life, including Blue, Humpback and Minke Whale, and Dolphins. Not only do these waters boast the best sight-seeing opportunities, but some of the world’s best fishing as well. Admiralty Island, a 145km long stretch of pristine wilderness, is an angling utopia where you can bring home Ling Cod, Yellow Eye and a range of wild Alaskan Salmon, from Silver to Kind. Admiralty Island is also well-known for its number of brown bears and bald eagles so binoculars here are a must. Get used to the sight of brown bears as they are your only angling competition!
One of our favorite places to stay on Admiralty Island is Favorite Bay Lodge, a quintessentially Alaskan wood-framed lodge on the east shore of the island. This lodge provides a fantastic base to explore from, and common activities include kayaking, whale watching, fishing and wildlife viewing. The fish on offer are diverse and sizable, and anything you catch can be tastefully prepared by the resident chef. Additionally, the fish-loving crew at the lodge are happy to filet and process your catch for your journey back, meaning you won’t be heading home empty-handed!
