The Itinerary
1 | VANCOUVER, BC
Welcome to Vancouver, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Coast Mountains in one of North America’s most beautifully situated cities. Upon arrival, you’ll collect your rental car and make your way downtown. The remainder of the day is yours to ease into the journey, perhaps with a walk along the seawall or dinner at one of the city’s many acclaimed restaurants. Accommodations are at Rosewood Hotel Georgia.
2 | VANCOUVER, BC
Today you’ll venture into the coastal rainforest for a guided walk that explores the connection between forest, river, and salmon ecosystems while practicing mindful forest bathing among towering cedars. A picnic lunch is enjoyed along the way before continuing to Circle Wellness Spa on Granville Island, where a reserved visit allows time to unwind through hydrotherapy pools, saunas, and relaxation areas (spa services payable directly). Enjoy an evening at leisure, perhaps with dinner on Granville Island or returning downtown.
3 | DESOLATION SOUND, BC
This morning you’ll drive to Horseshoe Bay and begin the scenic journey to British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, crossing first to Langdale by ferry before continuing north along the coast to Earls Cove. A second ferry carries you across Jervis Inlet to Saltery Bay, followed by a drive to the harbour village of Lund. In the afternoon, travel by covered water taxi to Klahoose Wilderness Resort, where you’ll be welcomed with a traditional Klahoose invitation to come ashore, followed by a brief orientation and welcome drink before dinner and an evening of cultural sharing. Accommodations are at Klahoose Wilderness Resort.
4 | DESOLATION SOUND, BC
After breakfast, set out by boat to explore the pristine waters of Desolation Sound and Toba Inlet, where steep coastal mountains rise directly from the sea. Watch for humpback whales and other marine life as you travel deeper into the inlet to view ancient pictographs and waterfalls cascading from glacial valleys above. Return to the lodge in the afternoon with time to kayak along the sheltered coastline, hike nearby forest trails, swim in the ocean, or unwind in the wood-fired sauna. Gather again before dinner for social hour and an evening of cultural conversation with your hosts.
5 | DESOLATION SOUND, BC
Following breakfast, travel by boat to Ahpokum (Forbes Bay), a seasonal village site for the Klahoose people, where your hosts will share stories of life along this coast while you explore the surrounding landscape. Guests may choose to participate in a traditional cultural river bathing experience or simply observe. Return to the lodge by boat or kayak along the quiet shoreline before enjoying a relaxed afternoon. Social hour and dinner follow, with an evening of cultural sharing that may include a cedar brushing-off and smudging ceremony.
6 | VANCOUVER, BC
After breakfast and a traditional farewell ceremony, depart the lodge by water taxi for the journey back to Lund Harbour. From here, begin the scenic drive south along the Sunshine Coast, travelling by ferry and coastal road back to Horseshoe Bay. Upon returning to the mainland, continue into downtown Vancouver for a final evening in the city with time to enjoy dinner downtown or explore nearby neighborhoods. Accommodations are at Rosewood Hotel Georgia.
