Impact to Travelers – Alberta

Jasper National Park and the municipality of Jasper have issued evacuation orders and are under a localized State of Emergency due to wildfires. While the fires currently remain contained in this region, they impact local communities and have tragically resulted in structural losses affecting residents and businesses. These fires have also resulted in road closures and the closure of Jasper National Park.

These fires can also have a wider impact, including smoke distribution across regions throughout Alberta and British Columbia. This smoke primarily impacts air quality and scenery and can change rapidly, depending on weather and prevailing winds. There are currently no air quality advisories, with the exception of Jasper. Our Operations team is monitoring the situation closely to ensure we have up-to-date information, and if you have a trip scheduled to Jasper our staff will be reaching out to you.
