The Itinerary
1 | ANCHORAGE, AK
Upon your arrival at the Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, you’ll be met and transported via private vehicle to your hotel downtown. Positioned in the heart of downtown Anchorage, Hotel Captain Cook is replete with history, including its very own collection of in-house art. Spend the evening exploring Anchorage, indulge in a mouth-watering seafood platter or take advantage of the long hours of sunlight on a meandering stroll. Accommodations are at Hotel Captain Cook in a Captain’s Deck Suite.
2-4 | KACHEMAK BAY, AK
Today your driver will meet you at your hotel for your private transfer to Lake Hood. Your scenic floatplane journey is a mix of jaw-dropping coastal and mountain vistas. Upon arrival, you’ll meet with your guide to customize the afternoon to your preferences—whether it’s an invigorating hike through Kachemak Bay State Park, a peaceful paddle in the fjord, or simply a glass of wine by the bay. Accommodations are at the Tutka Bay Lodge in a Cabin.
Over the next two days, you’ll have the opportunity to select two lodge-based excursions, reserved in advance. Options include bear viewing in remote wilderness; deep sea fishing for halibut or salmon in the waters of Kachemak Bay; a scenic marine cruise in search of whales, sea otters, puffins, and more; an aerial adventure by helicopter or seaplane to glaciers and backcountry ridgelines; or a culinary immersion featuring foraging, farm visits, and hands-on cooking with local chefs. 5 | BRISTOL BAY, AK
Enjoy a final morning of activities at Tutka Bay Lodge before you set out on your next adventure. This afternoon you will board a seaplane flight back to Lake Hood/ Anchorage. Upon arrival, you will board a flight to King Salmon and shuttle to Crystal Creek Lodge. Once you get settled, explore this backcountry lodge, considered one of the finest lodges in Alaska. Accommodations are at the Crystal Creek Lodge.
6-9 | BRISTOL BAY, AK
During your stay at Crystal Creek, you’ll be able to experience a variety of activities, namely some of
the best fishing in the state. The waterways surrounding Crystal Creek lodge are world-famous for their rainbow trout, Arctic char, Dolly Varden and grayling, and the Naknek river directly in front of the lodge is teeming with salmon. When you’ve had your fill of fishing, there’s brown bear watching in Katmai National Park, kayaking, beach combing, and more. Accommodations are at Crystal Creek Lodge.
On your ninth day after breakfast, you will board the Crystal Creek Lodge shuttle to the King Salmon Airport. A commercial flight will return you to Anchorage International Airport, where you will catch your connecting flight home. Safe travels!
