The Itinerary

1 | ANCHORAGE, AK

Upon arrival at the Anchorage International Airport, you’ll be met by your driver for your transfer to Lake Hood. After a scenic one-hour floatplane ride you’ll arrive at Tutka Bay Lodge, your home base for the next four days. Once settled in, explore the ten acres of waterfront property that Tutka rests on. Accommodations are at Tutka Bay Lodge in a Cabin.

2-3 | KACHEMAK BAY, AK

This deep sea fishing expedition is perfect whether you’re a seasoned angler or a novice to the sport; either way, you’ll experience one of the world’s finest sport fishing areas. Homer is well known not just as the “Halibut Fishing Capital of the World” but also for its year-round salmon fishing. As you head out across the waters of Kachemak Bay and lower Cook Inlet, you’ll be surrounded by the most beautiful scenery imaginable. Accommodations are at the Tutka Bay Lodge in a Cabin.

Today is a day full of adventure, and entirely up to you. From mild to wild, see the Kenai Coast on land and sea. Hike Kachemak State Park and take in the shoreline through spruce forests. Enjoy a guided kayak journey, exploring the Herring Islands and Kachemak Bay. Visit Seldovia Village, where Russian invaders established a sea otter hunting station in the late 1700’s. You may wish to stay closer to the lodge, and take in a cooking class or indulge in a massage and yoga session. Accommodations are at the Tutka Bay Lodge.

4 | BRISTOL BAY, AK

Enjoy a final morning of activities at Tutka Bay Lodge before you set out on your next adventure. This afternoon you will board a seaplane flight back to Lake Hood/Anchorage. Upon arrival you will board a flight to King Salmon, and shuttle to Crystal Creek Lodge. Once you get settled, explore this backcountry lodge – considered one of the finest lodges in Alaska. Accommodations are at the Crystal Creek Lodge.

5-8 | BRISTOL BAY, AK

During your stay at Crystal Creek you’ll be able to experience a variety of activities, namely some of the best fishing in the state. The waterways surrounding Crystal Creek lodge are world-famous for their rainbow trout, Arctic char, Dolly Varden and grayling, and the Naknek river directly in front of the lodge is teeming with salmon. When you’ve had your fill of fishing, there’s brown bear watching in Katmai National Park, kayaking, beach combing, and more. Accommodations are at Crystal Creek Lodge.

On your eighth day after breakfast you will board the Crystal Creek Lodge shuttle to the King Salmon Airport. A commercial flight will return you to Anchorage International Airport, where you will catch your connecting flight home. Safe travels!
