The Itinerary
1 | VANCOUVER, BC
Upon your arrival at Vancouver International Airport, you will be met and transported to your hotel downtown. Enjoy a walk on the waterfront or stroll along Robson Street in search for the perfect restaurant or boutique. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in a Fairmont Gold Harbour Mountain View Room.
2 | KAMLOOPS, BC
After a shuttle transfer to the train station, board the Rocky Mountaineer for the first portion of your two-day trip to Kamloops, in the Thompson Okanagan. The Canadian Pacific Railway track follows the Fraser Valley east up to Hope through verdant valleys with views of the Coast Mountains to the north. Enjoy views of the Fraser canyon and, further east, hilly terrain bare of almost everything except sagebrush. Herds of beef cattle, tended by cowboys on horseback, graze on the expansive rangeland. Accommodations are in Kamloops in a moderate hotel.
3 | BANFF, AB
Depart Kamloops for your second day aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. A shuttle transfer will return you to the train station, where it’s all aboard! Sweep past the Shuswap Lakes, Revelstoke, Rogers Pass and Glacier National Park. As you approach the Alberta border and the Canadian Rockies, the train will enter the unique Spiral Tunnels that climb through Cathedral Mountain and Mt. Ogden. Your journey ends in the small resort town of Banff, located in the heart of Banff National Park. Your driver will whisk you away privately to your “Castle in the Mountains”. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Banff Springs in a Fairmont Gold View Room.
