For The Love of Fairmont

Everyone knows that Fairmont Hotels and Resorts are a legendary hotel group on the Canadian tourism scene and, since we opened our doors 22 years ago, it’s been quite the love fest between our companies. Simply put, we love hosting guests together.

On this program we’re celebrating and honouring this top hotel group with a trifecta of luxurious accommodation, and a pairing of exclusive local experiences. Tee up in Whistler, where you have your choice of award-winning golf courses, chill in the spa or pick an outdoor adventure… There are tons of options to enjoy. In historic and quaint Victoria, you’ll be charmed by the horse-drawn buggies, bright blooms, and the iconic Fairmont Empress sitting opposite the harbour. A short and scenic floatplane ride away is Vancouver, your final stop on this memorable holiday. Cruise for culture and take in urban pursuits in Vancouver, exploring 1,000 acre Stanley Park and the North Shore. Each leg of your journey is highlighted with elegant Fairmont Gold accommodation, jaw-dropping west coast scenery, and sincere Canadian hospitality.

The Itinerary

Day 1

Upon your arrival at the Vancouver Airport, you’ll pick up your rental car and drive the scenic Sea to Sky highway to Whistler. Explore the chic village boutiques, and enjoy dinner on your own (we’ll be happy to assist with reservations or suggestions). Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Whistler in a Fairmont Gold Room.

Day 2

This morning you have the choice of activities, from relaxing to hair-raising! Unwind at Vida spa with an exclusive treatment, swing your clubs on the green, or hang from a zip-line, whizzing through the trees. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure, take a break-you’ve earned it! Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Whistler in a Fairmont Gold Room.

Day 3

Today is yours to spend at leisure. Walk in the footsteps of the world’s greatest athletes, exploring the village that played host to the 2010 Winter Olympics. Observe the local black bears, visiting bear dens and learning about the flora and fauna native to the area. Hike the many trails, from leisurely to challenging! Accommodations are at the Fairmont Château Whistler in a Fairmont Gold Room.

Day 4

After breakfast you’ll depart Whistler and drive and ferry to Victoria, where you’ll drop off your rental car. The quaint capital is full of charm, with plenty to explore. One of the oldest cities in the Pacific Northwest, you won’t be able to miss the two oldest landmarks – the Legislative buildings and the Empress Hotel. Close to the city centre, Victoria’s Chinatown is the second oldest in North America and its narrow Fan Tan Alley (the narrowest street in Canada at 35 inches wide!) is a must-see – if you can fit.

Day 5

Today you will be met by your expert guide for a private cultural tour of Victoria. First stop is Butchart Gardens, a 50-acre horticultural masterpiece. Enjoy a stroll through the Sunken Garden and the charming English Rose Garden… Following your visit, continue exploring as time allows: check out nearby Victoria Butterfly Gardens or the Church & State Winery. Otherwise, return downtown to visit the shops on Government Street and Antique Row, or visit Craigdarroch Castle, a heritage mansion and museum. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in a Fairmont Gold Room.

Day 6

Enjoy the exhilaration of racing through the seas in an open-air zodiac on a half-day whale watching tour. The Juan de Fuca and Haro Straits are home to three orca (killer whale) pods, with nearly 100 orcas among them—which means that sightings are all but guaranteed. Board a floatplane in the afternoon, landing in Vancouver. A private transfer will deliver you to your hotel, and the evening is yours to spend at leisure. Accommodations are at Fairmont Pacific Rim in a Fairmont Gold Harbour View Room.

Day 7

Today you will be met by a local expert for an insider’s glimpse into diverse and multi-cultural Vancouver. Catch a glimpse of the city’s mixed Native, European, and Asian cultures, legendary Chinatown, and historic Gastown. Discover the thriving residential area known as the West End as you head into Stanley Park to see the famous West Coast Totem Poles. Visit Capilano Canyon, a coastal lush rainforest perched high above the city center. Accommodations are at Fairmont Pacific Rim in a Fairmont Gold Harbour View Room.

Day 8

Today is yours to spend at leisure in Vancouver. Revisit a neighborhood which caught your eye on yesterday’s tour, stroll Robson Street, or luxuriate by the outdoor pool soaking up the rays. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in a Fairmont Gold Harbour View Room.

Day 9

After breakfast your driver will pick you up for a private transfer to the Vancouver International Airport, where you’ll catch your flight home. Safe travels!
