This trip is a self-driven adventure that combines a four-night stay at one of North America’s premier ranches with two nights in Vancouver and two nights in charming Whistler Village. At Echo Valley Ranch, an eco-ranch located in the interior mountains on 160 acres of pristine British Columbia wilderness, experience a variety of activities, such as horseback riding, fly-fishing, hiking, or exploring the vast Fraser Canyon. Echo Valley Ranch is also an award-winning ranch for its commitment and dedication to sustaining its environment. In Whistler, discover the world-famous resort any way you like—from a floatplane, zipline, gondola, river raft, or on foot. Accommodations everywhere on this trip are refined, but the focus is on enjoying the great outdoors.

The Itinerary

1 | VANCOUVER, BC

Upon your arrival at Vancouver International Airport, you’ll retrieve your SUV rental vehicle and drive downtown to your hotel. Depending on arrival times, you may wish to explore Vancouver on your own. Stroll the nearby seawall to Stanley Park, visit the Vancouver Aquarium, or explore the historic cobbled streets of Gastown. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in a Signature Harbour Stanley Park View Double/Double.

2 | VANCOUVER, BC

Today is yours at leisure to explore Vancouver. If you’re in search of an activity high in the sky, try a helicopter tour with an ice cave exploration. Foodies visiting Vancouver will relish unique and tasty tours with bites from all over the globe, while those seeking authentic local experiences may just hop on a bike and hit the Vancouver Seawall like the locals do. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in a Signature Harbour Stanley Park View Double/Double.

3 | JESMOND, BC

Today you depart for Echo Valley, trading in glass and concrete for rolling hills and pastures. On your five and a half-hour journey, you’ll travel through the Pacific Range and admire steep mountain peaks descending into rolling pastures. Upon your arrival at Echo Valley, explore the Ranch or take in a yoga class (schedule depending). Accommodations are at the Echo Valley Ranch in a Ranch Suite.

4-6 | JESMOND, BC

Over the next few days, enjoy a guided two hour horseback ride across varied terrain, including open country and beneath forested canopies (one per stay), a three hour Fraser Canyon safari, where you will have the opportunity to photograph some of the most breathtaking landscapes (one per stay), unlimited fly-fishing at the ranch’s well-stocked trout ponds, hiking, biking, daily guided Thai yoga (Ruesri dat ton) stretching classes, and guided nature trail walks (one per stay). Other options include gold panning along the old Gold Rush Trail—one of the most spectacular sights showcasing BC’s history, white water rafting on the Thompson River, and world-class golf. During your time here, you’ll savour ranch-grown organic cuisine and experience luxury dining family-style. Accommodations are at the Echo Valley Ranch in a Ranch Suite.

7-8 | WHISTLER, BC

Today is a driving day, as you retrace your steps along stunning Duffy Road and the Sea to Sky highway. Your destination is Whistler, approximately four and a half hours away. Upon your arrival, explore the chic pedestrian-only village or enjoy an afternoon relaxing by the pool. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in a Deluxe View Room with two Queen beds.

The eighth day of your journey is yours to spend at leisure. Whether you’re seeking an adrenaline rush or a serene escape, Whistler has something for everyone. Optional activities include: ATV tours, bear viewing & ecology tours, fishing, golf at one of four championship courses, private nature walks, horseback riding, river rafting, zip-lining, shopping, spa treatments, and more. Accommodations are at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in a Deluxe View Room with two Queen beds.

9 | VANCOUVER, BC

Today you leave Whistler for your drive to Vancouver (approximately three hours) where you’ll drop off your rental SUV at the International Airport. Safe travels!
